In a music industry that has become suspect to just putting out anything that will sell, rather than a great quality product, one has to stop and reassess Who’s Your Target Audience? more so now than ever before in the history of the record industry.
Before I begin, let me make this perfectly clear. I write strictly from the heart and the majority of the time straight to the point, depending on the subject matter. I’m not trying to win a literary prize for I know those awards mainly go to writers who’s ambitions are New York Times Washington Post Wall Street Journal kind of honors.

I know there are many more factors I could listed, but that should give you a head start on most of those who are trying it by way of American Idol The Voice and all the other reality tv shows where only one real winner emerges from the thousands that try out.
Determine in your mind your WHY . Please be brutally honest with self when you do this, for if you don’t, you are certain to fall short when all the obstacles that are going to come and get in your way, will have you questioning is it all worth it. Remember that many have gone before you and have fallin short because someone stole their dream from them because they didn’t have one or just didn’t want to see you succeed.
The Beyonce’s Taylor Swifts Lady Gaga Katy Perry’ Iggy’s Jennifer Lopez’s Nicki Minaj John Legend Bruno Mars Jay Z’s of the record industry already have their mass appeal audiences better know as engaged FANS that buy their music. But for the up and coming indie artists, the struggle for airtime is way beyond the scope of reasonable financial capabilities.
To ask the question Who’s Your Target Audience? well it’s something you will have to research with diligence more than ever to make. Just saying I want to record and give the world my musical gift is not enough. You are everything you’ve ever wanted to be today, When you are talking about YOU INC, believe me that includes being an everything person or at least having a little knowledge on the all around happenings of your Label.
