To Twitter or Not to Tweet?
Now that is the question, To Twitter or Not to Tweet? If you are one of those musicians who hasn’t jumped aboard the social media bandwagon, you are most definitely missing the boat. I can’t stress enough the importance of Twitter Youtube Facebook Pinerest Goggle+ Vines Linkedin Instagram and all other forms of how the world does business today.
The world is all about the internet, regardless of how difficult you might be thinking it is to get actively involved in the process. You literally can’t go or do much without it. Okay I rake that back, there is still life in the off line world but you must have that internet connection or you will soon be shutting down and closing the doors.
Why is it that most of the musicians I talk to say I don’t have time for something that is vital to your survival as a musician. Email, do you have one of those? people connect through text and emails nowadays you do know this right? This article came about because someone ask me the simple question, why do you tweet in so many different languages? my answer was I love people. When the song lyrics “People make the world go round” by the Stylistics, they hit the nail right on the head.
Not only do I love people, the royalty checks all spend the same.Music is universal,we all just groove to a different vibration at different times. To Twitter or Not to Tweet? is an engagement between me and the rest of the world, 60+ countries in fact. But what if they can’t understand what you are saying, that’s what the google translator is for.
You have to get fully engaged in social media, or find someone who can manage it for you. This is the new record industry. Even they what’s left of the major record labels are fully committed to SM so why aren’t you again? These are billion dollar corporations with teams of people making sure they stay fully connected and engaged with buyers fans and loyal LIFE long customers. This is what you have to do, no don’t go hire an entire team of people unless you have the resources to do so, but do go through the learning curve to become familiar with how it all comes together, it’s imperative to your musical career.

Be seen heard and read all on one device the iPhone, hey where did that come from? I threw it in there before I forgot. Cell phones andriod, iphones, Apple Verizon At&T they all get it why not YOU?
Man I could go on and on about the importance of social media, but I guess you’ve figure it out that you need a website or blog or whatever those things are called, a landing page what? Yes there will be a learning curve but trust me it is no harder than any software program like Logic Pro, Protools, Cubebase,Reason, and many other recording softwares. By way of my understanding, the software is much more complicated to learn, than that of say wordpress a simple website or blog building program.
We could throw in video sharing sites, the ever popular fast becoming unpopular streaming sites for downloading your favs. What about internet radio, how do you get all these social media connections working in your favor? now that is the platinum question.
With so much turmoil going on in the industry with female artists bringing up sex charges from way back in their beginnings and rightfully so.
