by: Nuwri Ghostleaf
The answer to that magical question all independent artists want to know today is, Hard persistent and consistent efforts toward a set goal or goals. Thus the Indie Artists 2015 12 month Program What?. Is this anything like AA or drug rehabilitation efforts? well my answer there is if it applies to your particular recovery then I guess one could say yes.
Before I begin, let me make this perfectly clear.I write strictly from the heart and the majority of the time straight to the point, depending on the subject matter. I’m not trying to win a literary prize for I know those awards mainly go to writers who’s ambitions are New York Times Washington Post Wall Street Journal kind of honors.
With all due respect to ALL eyes that see read and hear this,no disrespect to your intelligence,I just want to have Written Verbal Conversations with you as the friend I see you as.Sincerely: Nuwri Ghostleaf
Let’s do this shall we. I hear and run into quite a few wannabe stars and some who are truly making a real effort at trying to make it in an industry that has gone from $32 billion dollars down to half that. Even with that being a reality, it doesn’t kill the dreams of those wanting to share their musical gifts with a much more connected world audience. One that is just a mouse click away, I mean millions of potential fans and music lovers of your creative gifts.
When you hear it said that the playing field has been leveled, that is true to so many degrees but there is still much work to do, because with that, there are still major hurdles to climb though with some due diligence on your behalf, it can be very beneficial financially if you’re serious.
As a very dear friend of mine who’s been in the game for quite sometimes told me, most musicians don’t do one vital thing when they try their hand at this game, and that jewel of information is this, “Learn the Business of the Business that you are In”. it can be the difference between $25k and $500k a very costly lesson. The “Silver Conductor”
If you were to ask 12 musicians how would they go about making it in the new social media record industry today, as in what would be your strategic strategy? I can almost guarantee ,you would have 12 different answers and that would be because most have not taken the time to do what I just quoted you, lean the business side of things.
Today’s record industry is not just about Google, Facebook ,Twitter, Linkedin, Pandora, iTunes, Spodify, just ask Taylor Swift. Most think because Psy “Gangnam Style” mega hit and I do mean MEGA, remade in every language known to man that has the technology.
Youtube has had to revamp because of the magnitude of this hit, A possible once in a lifetime hit for him of that size , which is cool based on the revenue generated and cost of living where he lives if you feel me. Nothing but MusicLuv for him.

Ok so what’s my Indie Artists 2015 12 month Program What? you might be asking right about now, well that obviously differs from musician to musician for the simple reason of one small but actually large question, What do you want out of the business? The Voice American Idol So You Think You’ve Got Talent kind of Fame? well good luck with that one.
Sadly that’s just reality 1 winner a season type of hype. Not saying it’s a bad thing, but have you notice how many audition vs how many make it to airtime? Let me let you in on a little secret on the behind the scenes workings of the what you can and cannot do.
No one wins until the winner Wins if you hear what I’m saying, When Simon Cowell says in an interview that the contestants shouldn’t use the show as a catalyst to propel their musical careers future, what do you call a musical resume? That would be putting it in his country’s lingo “Poppy Cock” (look it up).
That’s why you have to sign a before show agreement until that winner Wins. You’d think that because of the FREE mind you national and international exposure an artist is getting, once off any of those shows, you could be saying hello world I have a new cd out, come and get it, but no not until a time after the winner Wins. How long is that time limit, well how often do you hear from anyone else that’s been on those shows before you hear from the winner?
I rest my case on that one do your due diligence FIO (figure it out)
An actual formula, well I’ve seen and heard many, but I will say this, Plan your work then work your plan. There are many people on Youtube that offer some good and bad advice so be careful who you listen to. If I had one person other than reading the many great articles on this blog, would be my dear friend Ty Cohen, He has some great materials that would be most helpful I promise.
To make it Big in the new record industry as an Indie artist will be tough but doable. As Winston Churchill said in one of his most famous college speeches “Never Never Give Up”.
