Blurred Lines, Sampling What ?

My 2 cents. This was a Lawsuit just waiting to happen right from the beginning. the moment I heard the track first 5 seconds in I said that’s Marvin Gaye’s song. Not that sounds like it, but that is a straight RIP OFF! Damn that’s really gonna give music a bad name.Well I’ll be darn,if that wasn’t calling the kettle Steal.

Now we have to go back to god knows where in music history and start researching what sounds like what? or now this is a BIG or, we can just say BE ORIGINAL! That is the new music era real issue. Most new labeled artists sound the same. I call it the Social Media microwave society music syndrome (SMMSMS)

Let’  just get back to being Our Original selves rather than radio corporate music drones.

Thank God for the Indie Artist.

Before I begin, let me make this perfectly clear. I write strictly from the heart and the majority of the time straight to the point, depending on the subject matter. I’m not trying to win a literary prize for I know those awards mainly go to writers who’s ambitions are New York Times Washington Post Wall Street Journal kind of honors.
With all due respect to ALL eyes that see read and hear this,no disrespect to your intelligence,I just want to have Written Verbal Conversations with you as the friend I see you as.Sincerely: Nuwri Ghostleaf

Where do I begin with this one. Article after article, every .com blog, I mean it’s a Horror story of the worst kind especially in such a Fragile Industry. Sexism Feminism Racism Cyrisism Bootyism WTH? and now this. The implications of what’s to come are far too deep in scope for anyone to accurately predict.

How far back can anyone say that Sounds Like? and just like that Bam! Lawsuit. Danm it! Pharrell and Robin, Blurred Lines, Sampling what? you knew this was a straight up rip off, you just weren’t expecting such a backlash. I know what some of you are thinking, not Pharrell he wouldn’t out right do that kind of thing, ok what about Robin? someone had to say, man that sure sounds Like? at some point during the recording? Maybe because of the budget and Big dollars were being spent and seen, not even to mention it selling Millions with a tour to follow, awards Sh** who could say wait a minute or no to the potential of such a Winner.

The video going off the charts with views of the clean and not so clean hell let’s be real here, the Naked truth version, the label execs saw Cha Ching  $$$ all over this one. Am I hating, not at all, but agreeing with my dear friend the “Silver Conductor” we looked at each other and said 5 seconds in to hearing the first bar and beat, that’s Marvin’s song, not sounds like it, that it EXACTLY!

Now that’s a DAMN SHAME. To go to court and say I was being creative, your defense should have been, It came to me in a dream. People want to know what has happened to the real creativity in music today? granted we do live in different times with a whole new game being played from the accessibility to the FREE factor of just giving music away.

Social Media Twitter Youtube Facebook Linkedin Pinterest just to name a few, has changed it to where independent artists have a real chance to carve out a living and a career. Now 2 of the most notables do something like this? I groove off of both of their music vibes, C’mon “Happy”, “Lost without You” dudes really?

How will this affect the industry, it has already started. We just don’t know how deep or what the next step somebody or anybody might make or do. If you go deep over music’s spectrum of MILLIONS of songs, and say that sounds like,WOW! what a field day in the courts.

This is not the end?
